    Cold soak pre-ferment, a 5-day warm ferment, 2 weeks extended maceration on skins, mlf in oak, matured 18 months in new and 2yo French oak barriques. A serious wine in memory of a seriously lovely wine man, the late Colin Richardson. Colin loved a rousing and evocative red, something to get your teeth into and also be awed by. The cabernets made in his honour follow that principle. The '18, while still in building mode, is ready for its close-up right now, bursting in sweet blackberry fruits, almost riotous spice, rich in clove and aniseed, with a signature Pyrenees menthol, leafy edge. Ripe tannins keep the structure keen, something for the journey ahead. 95/100
